Poppy (Trolls) Birthday Party

It’s all just cupcakes and rainbows….until you plan a birthday party for over 50 guests! Immediately after seeing the movie Trolls, my daughter fell in love with the characters, colors and of course the music! So she just had to have a Trolls themed birthday party, and of course this crafty mom had way too much fun making the decorations.

The invitation went through a few revisions, from including lots of candy graphics to none at all, here’s the final version:

Decorations were by far the most fun to make of all the parties I’ve done. Centerpieces were created from jumbo Easter eggs turned mushrooms with Troll character cutouts taped on top. My cricut machine made these cutouts a breeze to make.

The party was in the garage, so I covered the exposed frame with colorful tablecloths and streamers.

Food was kept pretty simple: rainbow fruit skewers, veggie cups, goldfish crackers, no bake cake balls and cupcakes.

A candy buffet was used instead of having party favors, which I think the kids absolutely loved picking their own candy!

“Cloud Guy” was a last minute addition to the party decorations. Made from cardboard, cotton balls, pool noodle and paper printouts…this guy was a hit at the party and easy to make in about 30 minutes!

Kids. Had. Fun. That’s worth all the time and effort.

  1. Hi! Love the cloud guy you made! Just curious, for the face, mouth and socks, did you create those yourself or did you print them from somewhere? Trying to figure out the easiest way to make those parts. Thanks!

    1. Hi, thanks! I created the face and mouth in PowerPoint using shapes, and then found some socks in the public domain of Google images. This way I could make the size I needed to have better proportions for my cardboard cutout.

      Good luck!
